Maine Legislative Committee Approves Commission for Study of Maine-New Brunswick Energy Corridor

The Maine State Legislature’s joint select Committee on Maine’s Energy Future voted yesterday to approve a commission to study the proposed Maine-New Brunswick energy corridor. The Press Herald (Portland, Maine) provides further coverage of the issues surrounding the energy corridor, including some opposition in Maine to the energy corridor initiative due to the Canadian federal government’s opposition to LNG tanker traffic in the Passamaquoddy Bay. The panel’s report and recommendations are due by December 2, 2009.
