Debate Continues on Oregon Utility Siting Bill

The Oregonian provides an update on the increasingly heated debate surrounding HB 3058, a measure that would change the definition of “applicant” when defining what entities can apply for wetland removal or fill permits for land involved in utility projects. A spokesperson for Bradwood Landing LNG developer NorthernStar Natural Gas Inc. said yesterday that the bill is meant to streamline the permitting process and avoid overly-broad land condemnations.
