This week Leo O. Pelletier, a city councilor for Fall River, Mass., announced his support for the Weaver’s Cove LNG import project planned for a site along the Taunton River. Pelletier cited the expected economic benefits to the city, including taxes paid by Weaver’s Cove LNG, that the project may provide. Read more in the Fall River Herald News.
Separately, an editorial in the Herald News describes Pelletier’s position on the LNG project as “reckless” and reiterates the editorial board’s opposition to the proposed facility.
