Downeast LNG President Critical of New Brunswick’s Position on Maine LNG Proposals

Speaking in Boston, Dean Girdis, president of Downeast LNG, was critical of the government of New Brunswick for supporting the Canaport LNG terminal under construction in St. John, N.B. while opposing similar projects in Maine. New Brunswick Energy Minister Jack Kier responded that the Canadian federal government is responsible for representing Canada’s interests regarding LNG proposals for Maine, but also noted that New Brunswick supports LNG projects in New England and down the eastern seaboard. The Daily Gleaner (New Brunswick, Canada) carries additional details.
