FERC Official: “Regional Approach” for Permitting LNG Infrastructure Projects Unlikely

Speaking at the LNG North America Summit last week, Mark Robinson, director of FERC’s Office of Energy Projects, said that he believes FERC will continue to reject calls for the agency to adopt a “regional approach” to permitting LNG terminals. According to Platts LNG Daily, Robinson said that the current approach of assessing potential projects according to a standard set of regulations and allowing the market to determine which ones are built, “has served the country well and will continue to serve the country well.” [Subscription required]
