ABS Official Foresees Surplus of Available LNG Tankers Until New Liquefaction Comes On Line

Platts LNG Daily reports that Patrick Chaney with the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) said at the LNG North America Summit that as many as one hundred LNG carriers are set to be added to the global fleet over the next few years and many will remain idle until new liquefaction comes on line. Chaney went on to tell Platts LNG Daily that he expects the global LNG vessel fleet to reach 535 ships by 2017. [Subscription required]
