Opponents of Bradwood Landing LNG Terminal Pursue Two-Pronged Strategy

The Daily Astorian details the strategy being implemented by opponents of the Bradwood Landing LNG import terminal. Groups opposed to the project, including Columbia River Business Alliance, Columbia Riverkeeper, and Northwest Property Rights Coalition, have filed a notice of intent to appeal Clatsop County’s approval of the project’s land use application to the Oregon Land Use Board of Appeals. The opponents also are collecting the 598 signatures of registered voters needed to put a referendum challenging the land use ordinance on a special election ballot in September 2008. The signatures are due by June 18, 2008.

Separately, the Daily Astorian [subscription required] also reports that the Columbia River Clean Energy Coalition is hosting an informational meeting on LNG in Clatskanie, Ore., on Thursday, April 17.
