Massachusetts LNG Deepwater Ports Developers: Too Early to Know Coast Guard Bill’s Effect on Security Plans

Two developers of deepwater LNG ports planned for offshore Massachusetts, Suez Energy and Excelerate Energy, told the Gloucester Daily Times that they believe it is too early to know how the LNG provisions in H.R. 2830, the Coast Guard Authorization Act passed by the U.S. House last week, will affect their respective security plans. A spokesperson for Excelerate Energy, noting that the bill had not yet passed in the Senate, said that his company “is looking at [H.R. 2830], but we really don’t know what the result will be.”
