Analysts: TransCanada May Refocus LNG Strategy Following Two Recent Setbacks

The Canadian Press (carried via Oil Week) reports that some energy analysts are suggesting that TransCanada may refocus its LNG import efforts on the U.S. Gulf Coast region following two setbacks at its planned LNG regasification terminals. TransCanada’s proposed Gros Cacouna LNG terminal in Quebec has stalled due to a lack of firm LNG supply, and its Broadwater LNG terminal planned for Long Island Sound faces increasing political and environmental opposition.
