Experts: Asian Gas Prices Enticing LNG Shipments from U.S. Market

Speaking to the International Petroleum Week conference, FACTS Global Energy CEO Fereidun Fesharaki said that between 10 and 15 million tons of Qatari LNG could be diverted from U.S. destinations to Asia by 2015. In an interview with Bloomberg News (carried via the Houston Chronicle), Riccardo Crivari, manager of LNG shipping for EA Gibson Shipbrokers Ltd., said that LNG traders can make a profit of up to $21 million by diverting a standard 138,000 m3 LNG cargo from the United States to Asia.
