Blumenthal/Spitzer Friendship Not Expected to Affect State Broadwater Review Process

Despite a friendly relationship between Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal (D) and former New York Attorney General and current Governor Eliot Spitzer (D), the two will likely put aside their friendship during the review of the Broadwater LNG proposal. “I would strongly prefer that [Gov. Spitzer] be publicly on our side, and I’m still hopeful that he will be,” Blumenthal told the Stamford Advocate. “I will continue to have immense respect for Eliot Spitzer as a public official of tremendous intellect and integrity, whatever he decides. But the state of New York will see us in court.”
