Local Groups Protest WestPac LNG

The Nanaimo Daily News (British Columbia, Canada) reports that fifteen community and environmental organizations have joined together in opposing WestPac LNG’s proposed regasification project on Texada Island near Vancouver. The coalition, called the Alliance to Stop LNG, also hopes to halt all new coastal oil and gas operations proposed for offshore British Columbia and to continue the existing moratorium on tanker traffic offshore southern B.C.
