The Bahama Journal reports that following years of negotiations regarding an LNG import terminal proposed for Grand Bahama Island, Suez has opted to pursue Calypso LNG off the coast of Florida. Another LNG project, proposed for Ocean Cay by AES Corp., has also failed to move forward. The Journal notes that Prime Minister Hubert Ingraham has said previously that LNG is not a priority for his government.
