Winter Weather Could Affect LNG Imports to United States

A private meteorology firm, WSI, told Platts LNG Daily that it expects most regions of the United States to experience warmer-than-usual temperatures over the next three months, though much of the country will likely start to experience below normal temperatures by year’s end. Energy Security Analysis Inc., in a market commentary released with the weather forecast, predicted that colder weather in key heating areas would cause upward pressure on gas prices, though that pressure would be softened by high gas storage inventories.
