FERC Representatives Meet With LNG Opposition in Oregon

FERC officials met with local opposition to the Oregon LNG project proposed for Warrenton, Ore., at a public meeting held Tuesday evening. The Daily Astorian reports that Oregon State Senator Betsy Johnson asked numerous questions about the process and several local residents expressed frustration with the lack of transparency and level of local input during the federal LNG terminal siting process.

The Daily Astorian also reports on, and includes video footage of, the planned visit by FERC officials, company representatives, and local residents to the proposed site of the Oregon LNG regasification terminal. Tour participants questioned company officials regarding  environmental impact, the proposed gas pipeline route, and landowner concerns.
