New Pipeline Could Service Northwest LNG Terminal

TransCanada Corp. and Northwest Natural Gas Co. announced yesterday that they would form a joint venture to pursue a $700-million natural gas pipeline in Oregon. The venture, called Palomar Gas Transmission LLC, includes a provision allowing NorthernStar LLC, developer of the Bradwood Landing LNG import terminal, to buy capacity on the Palomar gas line. Greg Kantor, president and chief operating officer said, “[the Palomar gas line] is being designed so that if an LNG terminal is constructed on the Columbia River, the Palomar pipeline can be extended to serve it.” Read more in the Globe and Mail.
