CFIUS to Apply to LNG Terminals

Congress approved a measure Wednesday to extend the scope of the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) to include more deals involving critical infrastructure and energy. Newsday (New York) reports that the new law will subject ownership of projects, including LNG terminals, major roads, and power plants, to federal review by high-level officials concerning the security implications of direct foreign investment.
