NorthernStar Objects to Oregon DOE’s Requests

NorthernStar Natural Gas, the company developing the Bradwood Landing LNG terminal, has  asked FERC to deny two requests from the Oregon Department of Energy that the agency claims are vital to its review function. In December, the Oregon DOE requested that FERC make the provision of the resources identified in the Bradwood Landing Emergency Response Plan a condition for approval of the terminal’s license; earlier this month, the Oregon DOE also requested that the 45-day comment period for the Draft Environmental Impact Statement be extended to 120 days. NorthernStar has objected to both requests, arguing they are outside the normal approval process. The filings are available in the FERC e-Library under Docket Number CP06-365 and the Daily Astorian provides additional coverage.
