The Long Island Sound LNG Task Force, created by the Governor of Connecticut, has concluded that FERC’s draft environmental impact statement for Broadwater Energy’s proposed LNG terminal in Long Island Sound neglected to address several critical issues. According to the Task Force’s filing, FERC did not adequately consider the impact on gas supply that the development of other LNG terminals may have on New York and Connecticut’s markets. The task force also asserts that FERC did not consider the safety risks posed by LNG vessel traffic near the Millstone nuclear power station in Waterford, Conn. The Day provides local coverage.
