Southern LNG Files for Expansion of Elba Island Storage and Sendout Capacity

Southern LNG has requested FERC’s authorization to augment storage and sendout capacity at its Elba Island LNG terminal. The two-phase expansion calls for the construction of two storage tanks that would each provide 4.22 Bcf of capacity, as well as the construction of facilities to add 900 MMcf/d of regasification capacity. Southern LNG is also seeking permission to alter existing marine infrastructure to accommodate larger LNG vessels and to accelerate the simultaneous offloading of LNG from two tankers. Southern LNG’s notice may be found in the FERC e-Library in Docket No. CP06-470-000. Platts LNG Daily provides additional coverage. [Subscription required]
