Conn. Reasserts CZMA Authority Over Broadwater
In a letter to Broadwater Energy filed with FERC last week, the Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection asserts that, because the Coast Guard has confirmed that Broadwater’s security zone would extend into Connecticut waters, Broadwater Energy must submit a consistency certification under the Connecticut coastal management program. CDEP states that, if it “continue[s] to receive no response, [it] will vigorously pursue all available legal remedies necessary.” The letter is available in the FERC e-Library at Docket No. CP06-54.
