Weaver’s Cove Says LNG Vessel Traffic Won’t Close Braga Bridge

Last week Weaver’s Cove spokesperson James Grasso told Save Our Bridge Site members that “[t]he Coast Guard said it didn’t feel it was necessary to close any bridges [to accommodate LNG vessels en route to the Weaver’s Cove terminal].” Grasso was responding to members’ concerns that if the Braga Bridge were shut down while LNG ships pass, vehicle traffic will detour to Berkley, Mass., increasing traffic congestion and imposing “a burden” on road maintenance and police services. The Taunton Gazette has the story.
