KeySpan Representatives Asked to Appear Before Local Security Subcommittee

Three Revere City Council members have requested KeySpan officials to appear at a Hometown/Homeland Security Subcommittee meeting on Oct. 30 to address concerns regarding a security lapse at KeySpan’s LNG storage facility in Lynn, Mass. “I want to know why they don’t have adequate security down there, and I want to make sure they do,” Ward 5 Councilor John Powers said. In response to council concerns, Revere Fire Chief Gene Doherty noted that the city has a comprehensive emergency response plan in place, including evacuation plans. KeySpan representatives met with the Lynn City Council on Sept. 12 to discuss the incident and are taking measures to correct the security lapse. Read more in The Boston Globe.
