Downeast LNG Proposes New Pipeline Alternatives

The Bangor Daily News provides details regarding the newly proposed pipeline route alternatives to connect the proposed Downeast LNG terminal in Robbinston, Maine, to the Maritimes & Northeast natural gas pipeline. Three of Downeast’s proposals, including the company’s favored option, would traverse portions of the Moosehorn National Wildlife Refuge. According to Downeast LNG Vice President Rob Wyatt, the company evaluated the “environmental and socioeconomic implications” of its five proposals and supports the route that has the least impact on the environment and the population. FERC is seeking public comments by Oct. 18 on the proposed pipeline routes.
