Delaware Requests Rehearing on Crown Landing Terminal

The Gloucester County Times reports that the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control has requested FERC to grant rehearing of its decision to authorize the Crown Landing LNG terminal in Logan Township, N.J. The state argues that FERC did not address certain coastal zone management concerns when it approved the terminal, and did not require BP to meet with Delaware officials to determine compensation for “the reduction of public access to the Delaware River” if the terminal is built. Delaware and New Jersey are currently involved in a U.S. Supreme Court case concerning the right to regulate the terminal site.
