Documents: Ehrlich’s Lawyer May Have Promoted Sparrows Point LNG
The Baltimore Sun yesterday obtained the Baltimore County economic development director’s notes from a February meeting with David Hamilton, a lawyer who represents both Maryland Gov. Robert Ehrlich, Jr. and Sparrows Point Shipyard owner Barletta Willis LLC. The notes suggest that Hamilton argued in favor of AES’ Sparrows Point LNG terminal proposed for shipyard property, saying the terminal is “fundamental to [the shipyard’s] redevelopment plan” and survival. Hamilton also sent emails to the aide of a County Executive who opposes the LNG terminal, apparently seeking to affect that official’s public comments on the AES terminal. Gov. Ehrlich previously has defended Hamilton and expressed opposition to the AES project. [Access to archived articles requires a fee.]
