In an effort to halt BHP Billiton’s Cabrillo Port LNG proposal, the Malibu City Council on Monday plans to instruct the city’s lobbyist to raise terminal-related issues when meeting with the California State Legislature and Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger’s administration. “The City is certainly within its purview to seek to have the decision makers address these impacts and to take appropriate action to protect the City’s interests, including its air and water quality, aesthetics, and public safety,” said city attorney Christi Hogin.
