Shtokman Decision Pushed Back Until Summer

Platts Oilgram News today reports that Gazprom has postponed until summer its decision to announce the participants in its Shtokman LNG venture. “There are new interesting proposals from the candidates, which need to be studied,” according to a Gazprom spokesperson. The Russian-owned gas company was to have issued a decision in April. U.S. companies ConocoPhillips and Chevron are two of the five contenders on the final shortlist, and deliveries to North America could begin in 2010. [Subscription required]
