Energy Industry Representatives Discourage Dependence on Canadian LNG

Relying on natural gas supply from Canadian LNG terminals could prove detrimental for Massachusetts, according to energy industry officials speaking yesterday before the state’s special commission on LNG. Last year’s string of hurricanes demonstrated “the value and the importance of having storage close to the market,” said Nick Stavropoulos, president of KeySpan Energy Delivery, whoadded that supply disruptions are less likely if LNG facilities are sited closer to consuming markets.
