Deal Reached on Jordan Cove Pipeline Project

Fort Chicago, Williams Companies Inc. and PG&E Corporation, signed a formal partnership agreement regarding the Pacific Connector Pipeline, a proposal initially announced in February to construct a 225-mile natural gas transmission line that would link the planned Jordan Cove LNG facility to markets in California, Oregon and Nevada. The partners expect to initiate an open season for prospective pipeline capacity holders this summer. Bob Howard, PG&E’s vice president of gas transmission and distribution, noted that “the Pacific Project provides reliability and supply benefits across the Northwest, and it provides direct access for our customers to competitive supplies.” The proposed route of the Pacific Connector would allow it to interconnect with existing interstate pipelines, including Northwest, GTN and Tuscarora. Details on the agreement are in yesterday’s E&E News. [Subscription required]
