Cheniere Solicits Interest for Remaining Sabine Pass LNG Capacity

Cheniere Energy has announced that it is soliciting offers for the remaining 500 MMcf/d of regasification capacity at its Sabine Pass LNG terminal in Louisiana. Potential capacity holders have until May 15 to express their interest. Chevron and France’s Total each have reserved 1 Bcf/d at the facility, which is currently under construction and expected to come online in 2008. In addition, Cheniere has proposed to expand the facility to 4.0 Bcf/day, and is in the regulatory review process at FERC for that expansion. Cheniere also announced that its affiliate, Cheniere LNG Marketing, has signed a long-term terminal use agreement for 1 Bcf/day at its FERC-approved Corpus Christi LNG terminal.
