TransCanada Applies for Pipeline Expansion Certificate

TransCanada yesterday issued a press release announcing that it has filed an application asking FERC to certificate an 80-mile expansion of its North Baja Pipeline and the construction of a 46-mile lateral in California’s Imperial Valley. The expansion would increase capacity and allow for bi-directional flow of gas. It also would connect with Sempra’s Gasoducto Bajanorte to serve LNG terminals in Mexico. “We are pleased to be involved in the first major point of entry for regasified LNG on the West Coast of North America,” said TransCanada CEO Hal Kvisle.
