Sempra Plans Open Season for Energia Costa Azul Expansion

Sempra LNG President Darcel Hulse says plans to expand the baseload capacity of its proposed Energia Costa Azul LNG terminal in Baja California from 1.0 Bcf/d to 2.5 Bcf/d would depend on the success of its open season, which he says will take place “early this year.” The facility, which already is under construction and expected to come online in 2008, would provide natural gas to consumers in Mexico and the southern California market.
