CEC Official Says Cabrillo Port and SES Farthest Along in Review Process

An official with the California Energy Commission says BHP Billiton’s Cabrillo Port project and Mitsubishi and ConocoPhillips’ Long Beach LNG terminal proposal are the farthest along in the formal review process. Speaking at the LNG Asia Pacific 2006 conference in Seoul, Pat Perez, manager of the CEC’s Office of Special Projects, noted that the CEC will advise Governor Schwarzenegger on the terminal proposals. With regard to whether increased supplies come to California through LNG imports in the State or imported somewhere else along the West Coast and piped to California, Perez noted that the CEC is not predisposed either way. Bloomberg has the report.
