Calpine Zoning Request Wins Approval

According to Friday’s Daily Astorian, the Warrenton City Commission approved Calpine’s rezoning request  by a 3-2 vote. The Commission will require Calpine to satisfy certain state mitigation measures and demonstrate that the proposed Skipanon LNG terminal will not interfere with fishing interests; the Commission also discussed the possibility of strengthening its development code before Calpine files an application. The next step in the zoning process, the first reading of the new ordinance, will take place January 10.
