U.S. Needs More Gas Supplies to Meet Growing Demands

Woodside Petroleum’s Chief Executive Don Voelte predicts that U.S. gas consumption will increase to 30 Tcf/yr in 2025 from the present rate of 22 Tcf/year. Voelte also said Friday at The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Form in Sydney, Australia that diminishing supplies of natural gas in the United States is contributing to an increase in prices and underscores the need for gas imports, especially LNG.
