Eagle LNG Partners filed its formal application with FERC for authorization to site, construct and operate a natural gas liquefaction and LNG export terminal on the St. Johns River in Jacksonville, Fla. The proposed project consists of three liquefaction trains, which would be capable of producing up to 1.65 million gallons of LNG/day, or approximately 1 million tonnes per annum. The LNG will be transported to markets in the Caribbean and Latin America for power generation, and to local and regional markets....

The Japan Times reports that Toshiba has signed a sales and marketing contract with Jera, a joint venture between Tokyo Electric Power Company Holdings and Chubu Electric Power, to help find buyers for 2.2 million tons of LNG Toshiba is under contract to purchase from the Freeport LNG project under construction on Quintana Island in Brazoria County, Texas. According to the report, Toshiba has buyers for only about half of the LNG it is contractually obligated to purchase beginning September 2019....

KTVA Alaska reports that Alaska’s state LNG project developer, Alaska Gasline Development Corporation (AGDC), confirmed in a presentation before the Senate Resources Committee yesterday that it is in discussions to purchase ConocoPhillips’ liquefaction and LNG export terminal plant in Nikiski. An AGDC spokeswoman indicated that the Nikiski plant could potentially replace a larger LNG facility proposed for the Alaska LNG Project....

Magnolia LNG, LLC (Magnolia), has signed a non-binding Heads of Agreement (HOA) with Vessel Gasification Solutions, Inc. (VGS), which provides for a 20-year Free-on-Board Sale and Purchase Agreement of up to 4 million metric tonnes per annum from Magnolia’s proposed LNG export terminal at Lake Charles, La. The HOA contains several conditions precedent. Lloyds Energy Group LLC (Lloyds) has filed an application with the U.S. Department of Energy for authorization to export up to 9 million metric tons per annum (1.25 Bcf/day) of domestically produced LNG over a 25-year period. NextDecade, LLC announced it has signed lease agreements with the State of Texas and City of Texas City for an approximately 1,000-acre site at Shoal Point for the potential development of a multi-billion dollar LNG export facility. Reuters reports that Japan’s JERA Co., a joint venture between Tokyo Electric Power and Chubu Electric Power, has imported the country’s first LNG produced from U.S. shale gas in the lower-48 states. Historically, Japan has imported U.S. LNG only from Alaska. According the report, the LNG was produced at Cheniere Energy’s Sabine Pass LNG terminal in Louisiana, was shipped through the Panama Canal, and arrived at Chubu Electric’s Joetsu LNG terminal on the Sea of Japan on Friday. ...
