Coos County Commissioner Candidates Express Views Regarding LNG

The World reports on the race for Coos County commissioner, including the two candidates’ positions on the proposed Jordan Cove LNG terminal and its accompanying natural gas pipeline. Candidates Timm Slater and Kevin Stufflebean express support for LNG development, but Stufflebean says that he will wait until the terminal’s Environmental Impact Statement is released to declare a definitive position. Both candidates generally oppose a natural gas pipeline route that cuts through residential property, but if such a route is unavoidable, Slater says that he prefers that it run through the properties of large landowners.
