ConocoPhillips has withdrawn its application for the proposed Beacon Port LNG project. According to S.L. Cornelius, the president of Beacon Port LLC, ConocoPhillips’ regasification capacity at the Freeport and Golden Pass import facilities in the western Gulf of Mexico has obviated the “business need” to proceed with the Beacon Port project. The news follows yesterday’s release of the final environmental impact statement for the proposed Beacon Port LNG terminal.
