Chairman Emeritus of the Alabama Chapter of the Coastal Conservation Association, J. Manning McPhillips, praised Gov. Bob Riley for opposing ConocoPhillips’ Compass Port LNG terminal and ConocoPhillips for announcing that it will explore the possibility of a closed-loop regasification project. McPhillips said that other energy companies should “follow ConocoPhillips’ lead and use the more environmentally friendly technology that is available for their projects.” His opinion piece may be found in today’s Mobile Register.
