Brewster Island Bill Sent for “Study” Not Vote
The Joint Committee on Bonding, Capital Expenditures and State Assets has sent to “study” legislation that would allow an LNG terminal on Outer Brewster Island. Opponents of the proposal welcomed this step, expecting that the bill will not move forward. However, Rep. David Flynn (D-Bridgewater), co-chairman of the committee, said that the bill may be resurrected “if somebody asks to take it out of the study.” The bill is necessary to AES’ proposed LNG terminal on Outer Brewster Island. An Associated Press article carried via today’s Boston Globe has the story.
