Baltimore County LNG Task Force Releases Report
A state-commissioned LNG Task Force has submitted its final report assessing the feasibility of an LNG terminal in Baltimore County. According to The Examiner, the report concludes that AES’ proposed Sparrows Point LNG facility in Dundalk, Md., would pose a risk to public health and safety. In addition to the report, the task force issued a separate, more critical resolution asserting that the project would not be in the public interest. Potentially conflicted employees of the state on the task force were not asked to sign the resolution. AES project manager Kent Morton said the company has already addressed many of the concerns raised in the report.
