Bahamian Government Continues Assessment of Suez Proposal
Bahamian Minister of Agriculture and Marine Resources Leslie Miller said on Sunday that the Bahamian government is still assessing Suez’s proposal to build an LNG terminal on Grand Bahama Island. According to previous press reports, Tractebel shelved the project after receiving little feedback from the government and decided to pursue another LNG terminal for offshore Florida. However, Tractebel’s vice president of communications Paula Rockstroh said that the company hopes to obtain approval for both projects, citing Florida’s rising demand for energy. The Bahama Journal has the story.
