The Nassau Guardian today reports that the decision to pursue a heads of agreement allowing AES to build an LNG terminal in the Bahamas has created friction among officials in Prime Minister Perry Christie’s cabinet, two of whom oppose the project because of concerns for the environment and for the Bahamas’ tourism industry. When asked if the agreement will be signed today, a government spokesperson stated, “I have no information.”
