USCG Initiates Review of Downeast LNG and Quoddy Bay Proposals
Coast Guard officials yesterday met with stakeholders to discuss safety and security issues pertaining to the terminals proposed by Downeast LNG and Quoddy Bay. U.S. Coast Guard Capt. Stephen Garrity said the agency will assess factual information provided by state and local regulators, as well as input from Canadian officials before issuing recommendations for the projects. “There are gaps in what we know,” he said. “That’s why we’ve assembled this group of people.” Today’s Bangor Daily News has the report.
