Port Westward LNG Plan Receives Land Lease Approval From Port of St. Helens
The Daily News (Longview, Wash.) reported on Friday that the Port of St. Helens has approved a lease for a parcel of land along the Columbia River for the Port Westward LNG project. According to Port Business Development Manager Greg Jenks, the project has received “serious inquiries” from potential investors since the port accepted the agreement last week. Port officials said they expect the Thompson family, which owns the land, to approve the lease soon. Some financial backers had backed out of the venture in February because of delays in obtaining the lease.
