Op-ed: Broadwater LNG Proposal Can Help Ease Energy Shortfall
In an op-ed published yesterday by the New York Times , the senior vice president of Broadwater Energy says various studies provide contradictory views regarding the amount of natural gas available in the Northeast. John Hritcko Jr. objects to a contention made in a private study commissioned by some opponents of the Broadwater LNG plan that there is an adequate supply of natural gas in the Northeast. There is “not one public study concerning the need for energy in this region [that] has concluded that there is currently an adequate supply of natural gas to meet present and near-term demand,” Hritcko said. He also called for a thorough and comprehensive public discussion on how the proposed Broadwater LNG terminal can help meet the region’s energy demands. “If opposition leaders had their way, the public would be denied access to the facts to make an objective evaluation.” [Free registration necessary]
