Kelliher Notes “Problems” in FERC Application for Proposed Calhoun Terminal

In response to Rep. Ron Paul’s (R-Texas) March 6 request for expeditious approval of the proposed Calhoun LNG terminal and its associated pipeline, FERC Chairman Joseph Kelliher noted that Calhoun LNG’s failure to use the Commission’s pre-filing process created “problems” with the application.  “As a consequence, the application filed by Calhoun included several issues going to project safety that had to be resolved during the authorization period,” Kelliher said in a March 28 letter to Paul. Kelliher promised an “efficient but thorough” review of the application. Kelliher’s letter and Paul’s letter may be found in the FERC e-Library in Docket No. CP05-91.
