Group Claims 20,000 More Local Residents Have Signed Anti-Broadwater Petition

Newsday reports that Citizens Campaign for the Environment, a group opposed to Broadwater Energy’s terminal proposal, has submitted an additional 20,000 anti-Broadwater petition signatures to FERC and to Gov. Eliot Spitzer’s (D-N.Y.) office, bringing the total number of signatures collected to 80,000. In response, Broadwater Energy released a statement saying that “the project has received [the] support of thousands of New York and Connecticut businesses and business owners.”
