GDF Suez Considering Diverting Yemen LNG Cargos from U.S. Market to India
Zawya Dow Jones (carried via Wall Street Journal) reports that GDF Suez has approached the Yemeni government with a request to divert LNG cargos from the country’s liquefaction facility originally destined for the United States to regasification terminals in India. An industry consultant with Wood MacKenzie noted that by diverting cargos from U.S. to Indian destinations savings in transportation costs alone could be approximately $1 per MMBtu.
